Enter the page URL and run the check. The tool finds every img tag and shows which lack alt, lazy loading, width/height and srcset, and which images are not WebP/AVIF. No sign-up; the limit is 15 checks per minute.

Whether alt is present or empty, loading="lazy", width and height, srcset and the format by file extension. A 0–100 score is built from them. File weight and the content of the pictures are not analysed.

Meaningful images do: Google calls alt text the most important metadata attribute of an image. For purely decorative images an empty alt="" is acceptable, so you can leave such a flag in the report unfixed.

WebP and AVIF (and SVG for vector graphics). Google also supports BMP, GIF, JPEG and PNG; here the format is read from the extension, so addresses without an extension are shown as unknown.

It reads only img tags in the source HTML. Pictures inside picture, CSS backgrounds and images added by JavaScript are not counted, and Google's documentation notes that it does not index CSS background images.
