IP geolocation — how to find the location of an IP address

Find where an IP address is located: country, region, city and map coordinates, plus ISP, organisation and ASN. Mobile networks and data-centre addresses are flagged roughly, from the AS name; proxies and VPNs are not detected. Data comes from the free DB-IP Lite database (geolocation) and Team Cymru (ASN): the country is usually right, the city only approximate.

Enter an IP or domain and click Check. The tool shows the country, region, city, provider, ASN and coordinates with a map. No sign-up is needed, but a daily limit applies: 10 checks for a guest.

The country is reliable; the region and city are approximate. The coordinates mark a nominal centre, not an address. You cannot learn a street or a specific person from an IP.

The IP belongs to a provider and the database may place it where the equipment sits. VPNs, mobile networks and corporate proxies also shift the result.

Yes, enter the domain: we take its IP and show the country and provider. If the site is behind a CDN you see the CDN node, not the real server.

It is an approximate flag based on the network (AS) name: if the name suggests hosting or cloud, the IP likely belongs to a data centre. Proxies and VPNs are not detected.
