FAQ

Enter the domain in the form. The tool asks Google for site:domain results, takes the estimated page count, compares it with the URLs in sitemap.xml and shows coverage in percent. No sign-up is needed and a check takes up to a minute.

The count comes from a site:domain query and appears in the report. It is Google’s estimate; it fluctuates and can be inaccurate. For exact data on your own site, open the Page indexing report in Search Console, which also lists exclusion reasons.

It is the number of indexed pages divided by the URLs in sitemap.xml, in percent, capped at 100. If no sitemap is found at /sitemap.xml, or Google gave only a lower bound, coverage is not shown rather than risk misleading you.

The index can hold pages outside the sitemap (parameters, pagination, old URLs), while Google skips some sitemap URLs because of duplicates, quality or noindex. The two numbers rarely match; a large gap is what matters.

No, this checker covers Google only. For Yandex use Yandex Webmaster, for Bing use Bing Webmaster Tools. Both need the site added to your account, which this tool does not require.

Three without an account, five with a free account and twenty for Pro, plus at most five requests per minute. The quota is used only when the Google query actually ran, so a failed lookup is not counted.
