Free XML sitemap generator

This sitemap generator crawls your site from the home page through its internal links and builds an XML sitemap for Google, Bing and other search engines. Only pages that return 200 on the same host make it in: nothing blocked by robots.txt, nothing with noindex, and no URLs whose canonical points elsewhere. lastmod comes from the page itself or its Last-Modified header rather than being stamped with today's date.

  2. Review the URL list and the “Left out of the sitemap” table
  3. Toggle lastmod and hreflang, then download the file
  4. Upload sitemap.xml to your site root, reference it in robots.txt and submit it in Search Console

FAQ

Enter your site address and start the generation. We crawl internal links (up to 30 pages for a guest, 100 after sign-in), leave out pages with noindex, errors and a canonical to another address, and show a ready XML to download. Sign-up is optional.

Pages with a 200 status on the same host that robots.txt allows are included. Error and redirect responses, pages with noindex (meta tag or X-Robots-Tag header) and pages whose canonical points to another address are excluded. All exclusions are listed with the reason.

Only from real data: the Last-Modified header, article:modified_time and og:updated_time metadata or dateModified in JSON-LD. If a page gives no date, no lastmod tag is written: the same current date on every URL does not help Google.

Up to 30 for a guest and up to 100 for a signed-in user; the crawl is limited to 50 seconds. For larger sites use a CMS plugin or a crawler. In the sitemap protocol one file is limited to 50,000 URLs and 50 MB.

Download sitemap.xml, upload it to the site root, add a Sitemap: line with its address to robots.txt and submit it in the Sitemaps report in Search Console. After big changes, generate the map again.

No. Google ignores priority and changefreq anyway, so we do not output them. The tool does not create image, video or news sitemaps or a sitemap index file.
