FAQ

Enter the domain and click Check SPF. The tool requests the TXT records, finds the v=spf1 record and shows the mechanisms, the all policy, the number of DNS lookups and warnings. No sign-up; the limit is 30 checks per minute.

The domain's TXT records contain no string beginning with v=spf1. Either SPF is not set up, or the record sits on another (sub)domain. For a domain you send mail from, add SPF.

-all (fail) asks the receiver to reject mail from unlisted sources, ~all (softfail) to mark it as suspicious, ?all (neutral) requires nothing, and +all allows everyone. Use -all or ~all to protect against spoofing.

Under RFC 7208, SPF evaluation may perform no more than 10 lookups for include, a, mx, ptr, exists and the redirect modifier. Exceeding it gives a permerror and mail may be rejected. Our tool counts only mechanisms of the top-level record; nested includes are not expanded.

SPF is only one of the checks. Deliverability also depends on DKIM, DMARC, domain and IP reputation and the message content. Check DKIM and DMARC on the neighbouring pages and make sure the domain in the email matches the one you tested.

No. Two v=spf1 records on one domain cause a permerror. Merge them into one with several includes. Our tool shows only the first record it finds and does not warn about a duplicate.

Onde somos mais fracos: we do not expand nested includes and redirect, so the DNS lookup counter is understated, we do not detect a duplicate SPF record, and there is no list of third-party senders or history.
