How to find keywords for a website from its URL

Five steps; Keyword Studio does four of them for you.

  1. Enter your site URL

Studio reads the home page, finds language versions (hreflang, lang) and suggests a search region for each one: a country, or “Worldwide” for an international audience. Every version becomes its own project.

  2. Keywords from three sources

Phrases from the site’s pages (up to 50 from the sitemap) expanded with Google Autocomplete, queries from your Search Console (if connected) and Google Ads ideas for the site. Collection runs in the background, so you can close the tab.

  3. Volumes and CPC from Google Ads

Collected phrases get average monthly search volume, a 12-month trend, CPC and competition from Google Ads Keyword Planner, for the chosen country and language.

  4. Cleaning and clustering

Junk and duplicates are flagged automatically and negative keywords remove the rest. Keywords are grouped into clusters by shared word stems for free; for more precision you can cluster by overlapping Google results.

  5. Trends, recommendations, export

Seasonality from Google Trends, Wikipedia and Search Console; recommendations for quick wins in positions 4–20, cannibalization, content gaps and a prioritized plan. Export the final list to Excel/CSV or send it straight to Rank Tracker.

Cleaning large lists

Negative keywords, implicit duplicates, junk phrases, keep/exclude statuses, filters and bulk actions for projects of up to 100,000 keywords. Import CSV and Keyword Planner exports.

Recommendations and trends

Quick wins, cannibalization, content gaps and a prioritized plan, all free. Seasonality and trends from Google Trends, Wikipedia, Search Console and Google Ads.

What a keyword map (semantic core) is

A keyword map (often called a semantic core) is the list of searches a site should rank for, split into groups: one group, one page. A good one combines several sources (the site itself, Search Console, autocomplete, Keyword Planner), drops off-topic phrases and is checked against real demand, the search volume.

Why cluster keywords

Clustering decides which keywords one page should target and which need separate pages. Without it two of your pages compete for the same query (cannibalization) while part of the demand has no landing page at all. Grouping by shared words is fast and free; grouping by Google results is more precise because it shows how Google itself groups the queries.

FAQ

Is it free?

Yes. Projects, URL and autocomplete collection, Search Console and CSV import, Google Ads volumes (within a daily limit), cleaning, word-based clustering, trends, recommendations, export and sending to Rank Tracker are free for registered users. Only operations that cost us money are paid: Google results snapshots, keyword difficulty (KD), SERP-based clustering and the AI page brief. You see and confirm the price before anything is charged.

How do I find keywords for a website from its URL?

Create a project and enter the domain. Studio finds the language versions, you confirm the region, and the rest runs on its own: pages and autocomplete, Search Console, Google Ads ideas, volumes, clustering. You can watch the progress of every stage in the project.

Where do search volumes come from?

From Google Ads Keyword Planner: average monthly volume, monthly history, CPC and competition for the chosen country and language. The data is cached for 30 days. You can also upload your own export or use Search Console impressions. Volumes are not available for Russia and Belarus.

How does keyword clustering work?

The free mode groups phrases by shared meaningful words after stemming (ru, uk, en, pl, de, es, fr), either soft (overlaps allowed) or hard. The paid mode compares Google’s top 10: keywords that share ranking URLs go into one cluster. You can rename and merge clusters, assign a landing page and export them.

Is it a Key Collector alternative?

In workflow, yes: projects, collection from several sources, negative keywords, groups, export. The differences: it runs in the browser on any OS, needs no proxies or ad accounts of your own, and volumes come from Google Ads. There is no Yandex (Wordstat) data.

How many keywords fit in a project?

Up to 100,000 keywords per project; the table loads page by page, so large lists open fast.

How is it different from the free Keyword Generator?

The generator is a one-off idea search for a single phrase, with no sign-up and no volumes. Keyword Studio keeps a project: site-based collection, several sources, Google Ads volumes, statuses, clusters, recommendations, history and export. From the generator you can open a phrase in Studio with one button.
