Radar Does Not Suggest Pages: Why
The Radar is connected, but the list of suggestions is empty or contains only two pages. This is almost always not a malfunction, but a consequence of the data it has. Let's analyze the reasons by frequency.
Reason 1: Low Data in Search Console
The Radar works based on your query statistics. For a page to be considered a candidate, there must be demand for it: by default, queries with approximately eight impressions over the period are taken into account. A new site or a site with low traffic may not have such queries at all.
Reason 2: No Pages at the Top Threshold
The Radar does not look at everything randomly, but at pages at the top threshold — those that are close to a noticeable increase in clicks. If your positions are mostly outside the top hundred, there will be no candidates: work on the content is needed there, not just a link push.
| What You See | What It Means | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| List is empty | No queries above the impression threshold | Accumulate statistics, work on content |
| Only brand queries | You are found by name, not by topic | Expand thematic pages |
| Few candidates | Narrow core | See semantic core |
| “not in plan: page does not open” | Page responds with 404 or 410 | Check if it has been deleted; if the address has changed — promote the new one |
| Error about Search Console | Access problem, not data | Radar does not see the site |
Reason 3: Period Too Short
Search Console provides data with a delay of a couple of days, and a meaningful picture takes weeks to accumulate. If the site was connected yesterday, the Radar literally has nothing to choose from — come back in two to three weeks.
Reason 4: Pages Found, But Not Included in the Plan
Sometimes there are many pages in the list, but the plan only takes a few for the budget. The Radar consciously does not spend money on pages where links will not help:
- Page does not open. If it responds with “404” or “410”, there will be a note on the card “not in plan: page does not open” with the response code. Search Console still shows deleted pages for some time, so the Radar checks them itself. A timeout or server error does not remove the page from the plan — only explicit 404 and 410.
- Duplicate. If several of your pages in one language actually compete for a query (both in the top 20, and the query is a significant share of their impressions), only the main one is strengthened — the one that collects more clicks and impressions, the others are marked “not in plan: duplicate”. Language versions of a page are not considered duplicates.
- Service page. Terms, policies, contacts, login, changelog, and similar — “not in plan: service page”: there is no demand for them, links will not help.
- The page is already managed by autopilot. The note “not in plan: already managed by autopilot” with the date when a repeat will be appropriate (60 days from the start of the cascade). However, it can still be added to the plan manually — in the list “+ Add Page” it is marked 🤖.
- Too small increase. Pages that will give less than 0.4 additional clicks per month even after a rise are not included in the plan under any budget — the Radar shows how many such pages there are.
There are no longer restrictions on the number of pages on the site: the Radar checks all pages from Search Console and keeps up to 1500 of the most promising in analysis. If there are more suitable ones, it will show how many there are in total and suggest the rest in the following months.
What to Do While the Radar is Silent
- Check the indexing of pages: pages outside the index do not provide impressions at all.
- Look at missed traffic — there is a different selection logic.
- Select a page manually: which page to choose.
- If traffic has recently dropped, first find the reason: traffic from Google has dropped.
When an Empty List is Good News
If almost everything for your queries is already in the top 3, the Radar has nothing to suggest: there are simply no pages at the top threshold. This is a rare but pleasant reason. It can be checked quickly — look at the distribution of positions in Search Console: if the majority is in the top three, work on expanding the core, not on the positions of existing pages.
What Not to Do
Lower the impression threshold “to get options”. Queries with one or two impressions are noise, and promoting them spends the budget with no chance of return. The threshold exists precisely so that random lines do not get into the list.
