The browser fingerprint is a set of characteristics that a website obtains without any cookies: browser and system version, screen resolution, time zone, language, font list, graphics rendering features. Can You Hide?
Completely — no: attempts to hide everything make the fingerprint even more unique. The opposite works — look like the majority: standard resolution, common font set, fresh version of a popular browser. How to Reduce Your Noticeability
- Update your browser. A fresh popular version is the most common, and therefore the least noticeable.
- Do not install a dozen extensions — each adds distinguishable features.
- Do not change the window size to a non-standard one and do not disable everything in the settings.
- Remember the time zone: an address in one country and a time zone in another is a noticeable mismatch.
