Anchor Plan: How Many Commercial Anchors to Use
The anchor list is the only part of the cascade where the decision is entirely up to you, and at the same time the most common place for mistakes. Below are the working proportions and how this is set in the interface.
Four Types of Anchors
| Type | Example | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Brand | PromoPilot, promopilot.link | The basis of a natural profile: this is how people link |
| No Anchor | here, more details, read | Dilution, looks like a regular link in the text |
| General on Topic | link promotion service | Thematic signal without overstuffing |
| Commercial Exact | buy cascade links cheap | Direct impact on the query — and the main source of risk |
Working Proportions
Industry recommendation that we also adhere to: commercial exact anchors — no more than 20–30% of all links to the page, the rest should be brand, no anchor, general, and page addresses. The younger the domain and the fewer natural links it has, the lower this share should be.
The share should be calculated not from a single run, but from the entire profile of the page: if the page already has incoming links with exact anchors, a new run with the same anchors reinforces the imbalance.
How This is Set
- In the link settings, specify the list of anchors — one per line.
- The platform rotates the list: each publication receives a random option from your set.
- Only your anchor is woven into the article — external links are not added to the text.
- If no anchor is specified, the project name or the title of the page is used.
Details of the interface are in the article “Anchors and Wishes”.
Common Mistakes
- One anchor for the entire list. All publications will receive it — this is the most recognizable spam signal that exists.
- Anchor the length of a sentence. Looks unnatural and is often cut off by the platform.
- Anchor not related to the page. A link with the anchor “flower delivery” on a page about laptop repair — a contradictory signal.
- Identical list for all pages of the project. Each page should have its own set for its query.
Connection to Risk
Anchor overstuffing is historically the first reason why link schemes were penalized, and it is also the easiest to diagnose. If you are in doubt about the proportion, it is safer to shift it towards brand and no anchor: the loss of accuracy is compensated by volume. More about risks — penalties for links.
