Rank tracker without a subscription: pay-per-check vs SerpRobot, SE Ranking and AccuRanker (2026)

A rank tracker without a subscription is cheaper when you check rankings weekly or occasionally, and more expensive when you track hundreds of keywords every day. We compare pay-per-check tracking with SerpRobot, SE Ranking and AccuRanker on October 2026 prices, calculate monthly costs for six workloads, list the free options and say plainly when a subscription is the better deal.

Rank tracker without a subscription: pay-per-check vs SerpRobot, SE Ranking and AccuRanker (2026)

A rank tracker without a subscription makes sense when you check rankings occasionally or weekly; if you track hundreds of keywords every day, a subscription is cheaper, including against our own tool. That is the honest summary of this comparison. We put pay-per-check tracking next to SerpRobot, SE Ranking and AccuRanker, add the free options, and calculate monthly costs for typical workloads. Competitor prices come from their official pricing pages, checked in October 2026. PromoPilot Rank Tracker is our product, so we show exactly where it loses.

Each paid tool counts work differently, so comparing list prices is misleading. What matters is how many keywords you track, in how many countries and devices, and how often.

How each pricing model counts

  • Pay per check (PromoPilot). One check is one keyword in one country on one device. 100 keywords checked once is 100 checks, or $1. Checked every day for a month, it is 3,000 checks, or $30. You can switch a project between manual, weekly and daily checks.
  • Capacity per bot (SerpRobot). Each $4.99 bot gives 75 keyword updates per 24 hours. Tracking 100 keywords daily needs two bots.
  • Keyword allowance (SE Ranking, AccuRanker). A plan includes a number of keywords tracked daily: 2,000 on SE Ranking Core and on AccuRanker Professional. The price is the same whether you open the tool or not.

What 100 keywords cost per month

Here is a typical small project: 100 keywords, one country, one device.

Tracking 100 keywords: monthly cost by schedule One country, one device. Official prices, October 2026, US dollars. SE Ranking Core includes 2,000 keywords tracked daily and a full SEO toolset. Pay-per-check is cheapest for monthly and weekly checks. For daily tracking, two SerpRobot bots cost a third of our price; at 2,000 keywords a day, SE Ranking Core is cheaper still.

The chart makes the trade-off obvious. Checked weekly, 100 keywords cost about $4.29 a month with us. Checked daily, they cost $30, three times more than two SerpRobot bots at $9.98. If you need daily data for a set of keywords that will not change, SerpRobot is the cheaper choice.

Two notes on fairness. First, SE Ranking and AccuRanker include much more than rank tracking: SE Ranking has audits, keyword research, Bing, Yahoo and YouTube tracking, city-level locations and AI search visibility; AccuRanker has its own reporting, tagging and integrations. Their price is not only for the numbers in this table. Second, we did not verify whether SerpRobot lets you spread checks over a week, so for weekly schedules we show only its minimum price.

Our honest rule of thumb: if you track more than a few hundred keywords every day, take a subscription. Pay-per-check wins when you check rarely, check weekly, or track a small set of pages for a limited time, for example before and after a redesign or a link building campaign.

Where a no-subscription rank tracker fits

1 · Irregular projects

No monthly bill between projects

A freelancer checks a client's keywords for two months, then the project ends. With per-check pricing, the cost stops when the checks stop, and the project stays in your account.

2 · Weekly reporting

Weekly checks cost a seventh of daily ones

Most small sites do not need daily rankings: positions in Google move slowly, and a weekly trend is enough for decisions. Switching a project to weekly cuts the cost by seven times.

3 · Before and after

Measure one change

Check a group of pages before a fix or a link building campaign and again a few weeks later. A one-off check of 200 keywords costs $2.

4 · One account for the whole loop

Rankings next to the audit and keywords

Rank Tracker imports keywords and impressions from Google Search Console, groups keywords, sets a top-N goal and shows a missed-traffic view. It sends email alerts on position changes and exports PDF, Excel and CSV reports. Keywords arrive from Keyword Studio in one click, and the same balance pays for the SEO Audit.

Where PromoPilot Rank Tracker is the wrong choice

Daily tracking at volumeAt $0.30 per keyword per month for daily checks, we cost more than SerpRobot, SE Ranking and AccuRanker once you track a few hundred keywords every day.
Google onlyNo Bing, Yahoo or YouTube tracking. SE Ranking covers all four.
Ten countries, no citiesUnited States, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Kazakhstan, Spain, France, Turkey, Russia, plus worldwide. There is no city or postcode level, which local businesses often need.

Free ways to check rankings

  • Google Search Console. The Performance report shows the average position of your own site for each query, page, country and device. It is free and comes from Google itself, but it is an average over all impressions, not a daily snapshot of one result, and only for sites you have verified. Here is how to find pages close to the top 10 in it.
  • Our free Google rank checker. The rank checker shows the real position of any site for a keyword, down to the top 30, with no sign-up: 3 fresh checks a day as a guest and 10 with a free account.
  • Free checks and trials elsewhere. SE Ranking's rank checker page gives 5 free checks a day; SE Ranking and AccuRanker both offer 14-day free trials.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a rank tracker without a subscription?
Yes. PromoPilot Rank Tracker charges 0.01 dollars per check of one keyword in one country on one device, down to the top 30, from a prepaid balance with no monthly fee. New users get 50 checks free. SerpRobot is a low-cost option but is billed monthly per bot.

What is the cheapest way to track 100 keywords every day?
On October 2026 prices, two SerpRobot bots at 4.99 dollars each, or 9.98 dollars a month, cover 150 keyword updates per day. The same daily tracking costs about 30 dollars a month with PromoPilot, so for daily tracking a small subscription is cheaper.

When is pay-per-check cheaper than a subscription?
When you check rarely or weekly. 100 keywords checked weekly cost about 4.29 dollars a month with PromoPilot, and 50 keywords checked once a month cost 50 cents. If you track several hundred keywords every day, SerpRobot, SE Ranking or AccuRanker will cost less.

Can I track rankings for free?
Partly. Google Search Console shows average positions of your own verified site for free. PromoPilot's free rank checker gives 3 one-off checks a day without sign-up and 10 with a free account. SE Ranking offers 5 free checks a day on its site and a 14-day trial.

Does PromoPilot Rank Tracker support Bing or local rankings?
No. It tracks Google only, in ten countries plus worldwide, on desktop and mobile. There is no city or postcode level. For Bing, YouTube or city-level tracking, a tool such as SE Ranking is a better fit.

How many keywords can I track in one project?
Up to 1,000 keywords per project in PromoPilot Rank Tracker. Each keyword can be checked in several countries and on desktop and mobile, and each combination is billed as a separate check.
