Favicon Generator
Free, no sign-up: upload a logo (PNG, JPG, SVG) or type 1–3 letters or an emoji and get a favicon.ico with 16, 32 and 48 px sizes in one file, 16/32 PNGs, a 180×180 apple-touch-icon for iPhone, 192 and 512 icons for Android, a site.webmanifest and ready HTML for your <head> — all in one ZIP. Everything is drawn in your browser: no files are uploaded.
The emoji is drawn with your system font, so it looks different on Windows, macOS and Android. The PNG and ICO files keep exactly what you see.

When to choose this tool: When your logo must not go to someone else’s server and you want the whole set at once — ICO, PNGs, manifest, SVG and code — with tab, search and phone previews, in English, Russian, Ukrainian or Polish.

Free Favicon Generator
A favicon is your site’s icon in browser tabs, bookmarks, on phone home screens and next to your URL in Google’s mobile results. This generator makes the full set from a logo, 1–3 letters or an emoji: a favicon.ico with 16, 32 and 48 px images in one file, 16×16 and 32×32 PNGs, a 180×180 apple-touch-icon for iPhone (with a solid background, because iOS turns transparency black), 192 and 512 icons for Android and a site.webmanifest — plus a favicon.svg for text and emoji. Small sizes are scaled down from a large render in steps, so they stay clean. The preview shows a light and dark browser tab, a search result and home screens. Everything is made in your browser and downloads as one ZIP.
How to Use
- Pick a source: letters, an emoji or your own image
- Set colours, shape and glyph size while watching the preview
- Download the ZIP and unpack the files into your site root
- Paste the code into <head> and verify with the favicon checker
FAQ
Which file is used where
| File | Size | Where it shows |
|---|---|---|
| favicon.ico | 16, 32, 48 px | tabs and bookmarks in every browser; browsers look for it in the site root even without a tag |
| favicon.svg | vector | Chrome, Edge and Firefox tabs — sharp on any screen |
| favicon-32x32.png, favicon-16x16.png | 32, 16 px | tabs and bookmarks when the browser prefers PNG |
| apple-touch-icon.png | 180 px | iPhone and iPad home screen |
| android-chrome-192/512.png | 192, 512 px | Android home screen and installing the site as an app (via site.webmanifest) |
How to install it
- Unzip the files into your site root — where your home page lives (or the folder you set in the options).
- Paste the code from “Code for <head>” into your site template before the closing
</head>. - On WordPress it is simpler: Appearance → Customize → Site Identity → Site Icon — upload the 512×512 PNG from the ZIP and WordPress creates the other sizes.
- Verify with the favicon checker: it shows which files the server and browsers actually find.
Designing a good favicon
- Simpler than your logo. At 16×16 px neither text nor fine detail is readable — keep the first letter, a symbol or the logo mark without the wordmark.
- Contrast with the tab. Tabs can be light or dark, so check both previews. A dark glyph on a transparent background disappears in dark mode.
- Padding. For iPhone and Android leave 10–20% padding: the systems round the icon corners themselves.
Honest limitations
- Emoji are drawn with your system font, which differs on Windows, macOS and Android; a favicon.svg containing an emoji shows each device’s own emoji.
- The generator does not create dark-mode-aware SVGs (prefers-color-scheme) or Android maskable icons.
- Legacy browserconfig.xml and mstile files for Windows 8/10 tiles are not created — modern browsers do not need them.
- If your source image is under 512 px, large icons will look soft — you will see a warning; an SVG works best.
